Devlog · Field notes

From the workshop.

Craft notes and design decisions, posted when there's something worth writing. Two are up. Below them is what I plan to write — a map, not a schedule.

JUL 2026 LOG-005 Knights vs Aliens is out now on Steam. The 2009 iPad game, rebuilt in Godot 4.6 and brought back for fun. Eight nations, thirty levels, one alien invasion. Free, and out now on Steam. READ APR 2026 LOG-001 Eastbridge, named. Third company, same direction. Where the name came from, what the bridge-and-sunrise mark means, and why we start now. READ
PLANNED LOG-007 Animus: Convergence — the empire layer. What the first Animus title actually is: a 4X in the Master of Orion tradition, the psychic field at the center of it, and why the empire game ships before the mechs. Planned for Q4 2026. QUEUED
PLANNED LOG-004 Animus: Frontier — the slice that fights itself. What "tactical roguelike deckbuilder" actually means in practice. Pilot-owned cards, squad energy, mech heat, telegraphed enemy intent. Why we picked these mechanics, and what's in the first vertical slice. QUEUED
PLANNED LOG-003 From iPad to XNA to Godot: seventeen years of Knights vs Aliens. The original shipped in 2009 under Prophetic Sky. An XNA port came next (source preserved). The Godot 4.6 rebuild is what finally brings it back. What survived, what we rewrote, what we cut. QUEUED
PLANNED LOG-002 The Animus universe — three games, one canon, three scales. Frontier is mech-scale. Convergence is empire-scale. Horizons is squad-scale. Why a solo studio is building a shared universe, what threads connect the three games, and the order they ship in. QUEUED
