Minds make the field.
The field makes monsters.
The Animus is a field generated by conscious minds — every thought, every instinct, every connection adds pressure. Violence excites it cheapest. Harmony is harder to align, and far more powerful when you manage it. Most empires harvest the field at low levels to power their technology. Few understand what they are stirring.
Saturate a system too far and the field organizes into something aware — predators born from war, entities with apparent will born from worship, stranger things born from harmony. Every empire in the galaxy is drawing from the same well. Harvest it, spend it, transcend through it. Carefully.
Every screen a decision.
Every turn a trade.
Procedural galaxy
30–120 stars. 6 star types. Planets with terrain, climate, and population pressure. Every game a new map, every map a new economy.
86 techs across 9 fields
5 tiers. Research opens branches, not straight lines — commit to laser doctrine or shield doctrine, and live with what you left behind.
Ship design, MOO2-style
9 hull classes. A slot system for weapons, shields, drives, and specials. Your fleet is what you built, not what the game gave you.
8 races, point-buy
39 traits, point-priced. Design a race or pick a preset. Telepathic? Cybernetic? Subterranean and pacifist? Your call.
Diplomacy and Council
6 relationship tiers, treaties, espionage, a Galactic Council vote that can end the game without firing a shot. Talk, lie, or watch.
The Animus
A galactic psychic field you harvest at your own risk. Saturate too hard, your empire cracks. Saturate too little, your rivals eat the future. The namesake — and the knife.
Early signals.
Concept renders from production — hulls and worlds, not screenshots. In-game captures land as the build firms up.
